About Us

Who We Are

We are the independent editorial team behind johnselec.com.au, an information and review website dedicated to pokies near me across Australia. Our role is to research, review, and present content about pokies venues and related topics so that our readers have a clear, honest picture before they make any decisions. We want to be completely transparent: johnselec.com.au is not a gambling operator. We do not run a casino, take bets, hold player funds, or process any gambling transactions. Everything you find on this site is published for informational and review purposes only.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help readers in Australia make informed, safe choices about pokies near me. We know that gambling content online can be confusing, biased, or outright misleading, so we set out to be different. We aim to provide accurate, up-to-date, and plainly written information that puts the reader's interests first — whether you are looking for a venue in your area, comparing options, or simply trying to understand how pokies work and what to expect.

What We Cover

johnselec.com.au focuses on the topics that matter most to Australians searching for pokies near me, including:

• Reviews and overviews of pokies venues and where to find them in AU
• Guides to pokie machines, game types, features, and how they work
• Information on venue amenities, opening considerations, and local availability
• Practical advice on playing safely, setting limits, and understanding odds
• News and updates relevant to pokies and gambling regulation in Australia

We regularly revisit and update our content to keep it relevant for 2026 and beyond.

Editorial Independence

johnselec.com.au earns affiliate commissions from some of the operators and services mentioned on this site. This is how we fund our work, and we are upfront about it. However, these commissions do not influence our editorial rankings, reviews, or recommendations in any way. Our assessments are based on our own research and evaluation criteria, and a commercial relationship with a partner will never buy a better review or a higher position on this site. If we would not recommend something to a friend, we will not recommend it to you.

Our Commitment to Responsible Gambling

We believe gambling should always be treated as entertainment — never as a way to make money or solve financial problems. Content on johnselec.com.au is intended for adults aged 18 and over, in line with the legal gambling age in Australia. We encourage every reader to set a budget, take regular breaks, and never gamble more than they can afford to lose. If gambling stops being fun, or if you are concerned about your own habits or those of someone close to you, please seek help through professional support services available in Australia, such as Gambling Help Online. Help is free, confidential, and available around the clock.
